An informed source added that Kylian Mbappé left the field limping and went directly to the dressing room, which raised speculation and fears of a serious injury and a prolonged rest for the French star with his royal team.

According to the newspaper “L’Equipe”, the French star will return immediately to Real Madrid due to the injury he suffered with his country’s national team.

The newspaper said: “Kylian Mbappe suffered an injury to his right ankle during his country’s match against Azerbaijan, which forced the technical staff to replace him in the last minutes of the match, which ended with France winning by three goals without a response.”

She added: “The national team’s technical staff, led by Didier Deschamps, announced that Mbappe will not travel with the team delegation to Iceland to play the next match, preferring to give him additional rest after he suffered a muscle injury in his right ankle.”

She added: “Deschamps confirmed that Mbappe’s injury is not serious, but it requires some caution, especially since the player was suffering from slight pain in the same area during the recent period, which prompted the medical staff to decide not to risk it.”

Mbappe did not complete the last 3 matches, as he left the match against Villarreal in the 83rd minute as well, and before that he left in the 81st minute against Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan in the Champions League.
