Once again, Liverpool were woeful in the 3-2 defeat at Brentfordwith Milos Kerkez particularly bad despite scoring.

The Reds lost their fifth game out of six on Saturday evening, with their Premier League title defence fizzling out before October even ends.

Here we compare our ratings with those of TIA’s readers, the Liverpool Echo and GOAL.

Kerkez (4.1) has struggled at Liverpool since arriving in the summer and he was awful at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Hungarian may have got the Reds back into the game before half-time, but he was a mess both in and out of possession.

GOAL’s Tom Bellwood felt Kerkez was “guilty of panicking at the back and looked shaky at times,” while This Is Anfield‘s Danny Gallagher called him “baffling.”

Mohamed Salah (4.4) was again worryingly quiet despite one moment of genius late on, getting the second-lowest score.

He was “very much on the periphery” too often, according to the Echo‘s Ian Doyle, who added that he is “clearly way short of confidence.”

Curtis Jones (6.8) could walk away with his head held high after an admirable shift, though, with Gallagher saying he was the “best player” for the most part.

What the stats say

According to FotMobSzoboszlai (8.5) was Liverpool’s standout performer.

The No. 8 never stopped running and made 22 defensive contributions, which was six more than any of his teammates.

He also played more passes into the final third than any other player (13) and completed the most passes overall (73).

Salah only won one out of eight duels to epitomise his struggles. Here’s hoping his superb goal springs him into form!
