A Russian astronomer talks about the appearance of Come…

uaetodaynews.com — A Russian astronomer talks about the appearance of Comet Lemmon, which can be seen with the naked eye

The scientist pointed out that this comet last crossed near Earth about 1,350 years ago.

The expert noted that the comet can already be seen in southern latitudes: in the northwest in the evening, and in the northeast in the morning. After passing near the star Arcturus, it then moved to the constellation Serpent.

On October 21, Comet Lemmon will approach Earth at a distance of 90 million kilometers. Its brightness will reach the fourth magnitude, making it visible to the naked eye on moonless nights, and it can be easily photographed with smartphones.

Comet Lemmon C/2025 A6 is characterized by increased activity, as gas masses are regularly observed in its tail. Astronomers expect it to appear again after 1154 years.
