Marc Guehi’s future is in the headlines again as the January transfer window draws nearer and Liverpool’s centre-back needs reman, while there is news of new contract talks.
Marc Guehi not expected to make January transfer
Guehi remains a target for Liverpool after his deadline day deal collapsed – the club should be kicking themselves about it! – and talk over his future has resurfaced ahead of the winter window.
He is not short on suitors, especially those looking to sign him on a free transfer in the summer, but Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is expecting Guehi to stay until the end of the season.
“I think Marc will stay and play until the end of the season,” Glasner told reporters ahead of his side’s UEFA Conference League match.
“That’s my understanding right now, nobody told me something different. I know there is no offer right now, so why expect something different?”
He could, ultimately, be told something different, as was the case in the summer before Palace pulled the plug, but Liverpool cannot afford to leave it late again if they make a return.

On this day in2022, Alexis Mac Allister won the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar.
His victory meant Ibrahima Konate tasted defeat in a final that went the distance, with the 90 minutes ending 2-2, and then 3-3 in extra time before a 4-2 shootout win for Mac Allister’s side.
Mac Allister was still at Brighton at the time but would soon join Liverpool and thus ensure Konate has a constant reminder of the success he was agonisingly close to reaching.
Michael Owen also won the Ballon d’Or on this day in 2001.
