uaetodaynews.com — Plastic surgeon reveals why Hollywood’s leading men appear to be turning to cheek augmentation
There’s a new procedure that’s taking Hollywood by storm – and it’s all in the cheeks, according to plastic surgeons.
Cheek augmentations, which can give a look of increased anterior cheek projection, is the latest treatment that the men in Tinseltown are loving, leaving cheeks pushed forward instead of inward.
As we age, our cheeks naturally lose volume, which is why some people opt for cheek filler or even implants.
And according to Oregon-based plastic surgeon Dr. Sean McNallyit looks like there are a few of Hollywood’s leading men who have gotten something done to their cheeks in recent months.
Dr. McNally believes that Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooperand Tom Cruise could have had cheek augmentations after looking at photos, though he has not treated the stars himself.
It leaves the cheek and midface area looking much fuller than they were before.
‘Aging around the eyes is typically the first significant sign of facial aging,’ Dr. McNally explained exclusively to Daily Mail.
‘Lower eyelid bags and deep tear troughs are a very common concern for patients. Part of this facial aging is typically descent of the midface in addition to volume loss,’ he continued.

Dr. McNally thinks that Gosling, seen on the left in 2017 and in 2025 on the right, could have had ‘filler or fat grafting to the cheeks’
The board-certified plastic surgeon explained that fixing loss of volume is the easier intervention.
‘Between the two, volume loss is easier to address as it can be done with filler or fat grafting, while drooping of the midface needs to be addressed with a midface or full facelift,’ Dr. McNally shared.
‘The big issue is that if you try to fully correct midface aging in someone with drooping of the midface with just filler, you end up with an overfilled pillow face,’ he said.
Dr. McNally suspects that Cooper has ‘likely had filler or fat grafting to his cheeks in addition to eyelid surgery,’ as he’s sparked conversation about his changing look in recent months.
After The Hangover star stepped out with girlfriend Gigi Hadid after her Vogue cover party in mid-September, some confused fans admitted they thought he was Charlie Sheen.
But Cooper isn’t the only star who may have had something similar, the plastic surgeon posits.
Dr. McNally thinks that Gosling could have had ‘filler or fat grafting to the cheeks,’ while he noticed that Tom Cruise’s cheeks ‘are more full’ as well.
‘Filler or fat grafting to the cheeks can be a super powerful tool to hide signs of aging, but if overused, it can cause patients to appear very strange with portions of their cheeks way too projected or wide,’ Dr. McNally shared.

‘You have to make sure you’re treating all the issues with a balanced multi-modal treatment plan, not just trying to use one tool to correct everything.’
Daily Mail reached out to reps for Gosling, Cooper and Cruise for comment.
The new trend comes just months after Daily Mail revealed that some of the most popular procedure for men was a jawline augmentation and a nose job.
According to plastic surgeons interviewed, many patients ask for a similar-looking, chiseled jaw as The Jonas Brothers.
Joe Jonas has previously admitted to using Botox, saying he became concerned by new lines forming on his face, but has not commented on any other work.
